For those of you who have not heard, Kevin Shimek, the Captain of the Texas State Water Ski Team, was killed in a car accident early Sunday morning heading back to Bennett's. Details are not know nor confirmed, but Tomo (Thomas Gilbert) who skis for ULL and Ryan Fitts (ULM alumni) remains in critical but stable condition.

Bobby Hall was also in the accident but was released from the hospital this morning.Kevin was not just a water skier, he was a dedicated member of our region and more than that, a great guy. I'll let everyone know as soon as we know more about memorial service plans as they are made available.Please keep Kevin's family, Ryan, Tomo, and Texas State in your thoughts and prayers.
